(More customer reviews)For those of you able to tolerate a 2% salicylic acid cleanser on your skin, this is a great product to test.I use it in the evenings in combination with the Acne Clearing Toner and the Acne moisturizer and it cleans without over drying my skin. I've had wonderful results and plan to keep a regular stock of this product so that I'm never out.

If using the Advantage Cleanser is causing more breakouts (as it has with a few people I know), your skin may not be able to tolerate this level of salicylic acid.The Foaming Cleansers (Oil Free or Sensitive Skin formulas), in combination with a toner containing either .5% or 1% salicylic acid might be the way to go. Also, don't overwash your face.

I'm 28 years old, and have oily, acne prone skin. I've been struggling with my skin since I was 13 years old, and have tried literally everything on the market.

On a whim, I bought Purity Made Simple, and noticed a difference the very first time I used it. My face felt clean...really, really clean...for the first time in ages. I had no real problems for the first few days, then around the end of the first week, I had a terrible breakout. Cystic acne, regular acne, you name it. It was awful. My first reaction was to stop using Purity, then I remembered the old adage, it gets worse before it gets better, and kept using it day and night. Keep in mind, at this time, Purity was only skin care product I used. About 10-14 days later, my skin starting looking better. My acne healed and my face looked...dare I say clear? I gradually started adding in other philosophy products and since that time, I've had maybe 1 pimple every 4 weeks, if that. My skin is soft, radiant, and clear. For the first time in my entire life, I can go out of the house with no makeup on. For me, it's been a miracle.

I've thrown away every other product I had in the bathroom, I'm a believer. I'm a philosophy girl through and through. I can't praise philosophy enough, and I encourage anyone to try it. Give it a chance to work, it'll change your life.

(More customer reviews)I usually don't take the time to review products, but this stuff works so well for me that I felt I had to. I'm 21 now, and I've struggled with Acne of varying severity since my early teens. I have combination skin which complicates the matter. I've tried all the standard cleansers (Cetaphil, Clearasil, etc.) and they generally work for a few weeks and then suddenly stop working, leaving my skin looking worse then ever. I kept trying new cleaners until I came to this one. I've found that it consistently clears my face and keeps it clear. It's somewhat hard to find in stores near my house, and, whenever I can't find it and am forced to switch cleaners, my face doesn't look nearly as good. It is *slightly* drying for me. Obviously the longer I leave it on, the more drying it is. I've found that gently rubbing it on my skin for about 10 seconds is just about right. When I'm using this, I have much fewer whiteheads and cysts. It doesn't seem to do much for blackheads thought. For that, I use a separate exfoliator.

(More customer reviews)I discovered this in the Mario Badescu salon in NYC - where one of their reps suggested I use this for gentle exfoliation and summer acne flare ups. A bottle should last you more than a year if you use the right amount (a tiny dab per wash - it lathers very well & glycolic acid is powerful stuff).Massage the lather thoroughly to allow the acid time to penetrate your skin. Use a little more if you have lots of makeup on. I tried DDF and other brands afterwards (of glycolic wash) and none measure up to Mario Badescu's. Your skin stays bright and fresh (from the non abrasive exfoliation), and the product just smells clean (not over perfumed or chemical laden).The glycolic toner will not last you as long, but is a good pairing if you have summer induced acne (minor t-zone/hairline). I recommend getting a salon consultation or reading up on their web page to gauge the frequency of use that is good for you. I consider this a bathroom cabinet staple, and in the fall/winter, I rotate use of it with a more moisturizing wash.Regardless of season, rinse well and always follow up with the right moisturizer for your skin.

My skin is very sensitive, prone to dermatitis and on the dry side, Even when I let myself be tempted by new, more expensive and well reviewed other brands, I keep coming back to this product. It feels so comfortable all day.It does not make my eyes water and my skin feels moist from morning to night. The application is very fluid which is great as I use it also on my eye lids. I see great improvement in the skin texture and overall appearance, much better than when I use other moisturizers. Some people might object to the fact it can make the face shiny. But I use foundation and a slight touch of L'Oreal or Bare Essential mineral powder which gives me a flawless complexion, I am 62 with good skin. I was so disappointed to discover that the product was not any more available where I live, but so relieved that it was available on Amazon. I hope they never discontinue it. A great product with a little price tag!!

(More customer reviews)I have never had "bad skin" so to speak but I always had a problem with random breakouts that would usually pop up when I least expected them. I consulted with an Esthetician who recommended this after I told her that I was completely frustrated with drug store products that produced no results. I also tried Proactive that is no where near as good as it claims to be. I tried this product and within 3 days I noticed amazing results. Any acne I had dried up and flaked off and was never to be seen again. All those tiny blackheads we all get on our nose was gone. I was truly shocked by that part the most. This product definitely burns at first and takes some getting used to but once your skin adjust the burning sensation goes away. My only problem is that you cant get the cleanser near your eyes therefore you cant use this as a cleanser/makeup remover also this has to be used on dry skin unlike other cleansers that you apply to wet skin. It has changed my life. I have not had a single breakout since using it. It really pays to get a quality product.

(More customer reviews)I was pretty surprised to find that Rose Milk can still be purchased these days.I haven't seen it in a store for many years.I bought some last summer because I was feeling nostalgic for the rose scent that I remembered from childhood.It still smells the same, though these days it comes in a much smaller package for a lot more money.I've used it just for moisturizing purposes and it works pretty well.It absorbs into my skin quickly and keeps it feeling soft.The smell reminds me of my grandmother, but that's not a bad thing.You can probably find cheaper lotion that will work just as well, but Rose Milk is the only one I've found that reminds me of being a little kid again!I've also read that it's good for people who have psoriasis.

(More customer reviews)This is the best moisturizer I've ever had.I have combination dry/oily skin, and most moisturizers I've tried over the years have felt too heavy or greasy and made my face shiny.After battling oily skin and acne through much of my youth, I have a very low tolerance for anything remotely greasy.I want my face to feel clean and smooth.This stuff does the trick.I put it all over my face and neck, and it does a great job of smoothing all the flaky dry bits without making my nose or forehead feel the slightest bit sticky.It's all natural, nothing at all weird on the ingredients list, and it smells all natural too--like any herbal preparation, an aroma of crushed sticks and flowers instead of an artificial perfume smell.It has little bits of herbs in it that sometimes get onto my face, so I have to do a mirror check before leaving the house, ha ha!But that is a small price to pay for something that works and feels so wonderful.I keep it in the fridge as recommended.It's a smallish bottle but it lasts a VERY long time, even with daily use.I highly recommend this product to anyone--I bet it would work great on very dry skin as well!
